Sundried tomatoes, sweet red peppers, garlic, oregano, basil and salt.
You can make a delicious appetizer by simply adding a little hot water to the dry Bruschetta. Leave it to soak for a couple of minutes. Then add some of your favourite Oil& Vinegar extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy with crusty fresh bread.
Some other simple ideas include:
- Cut a French bread in half and spread it with Bruschetta (made as above). Put some cheese, e.g. Italian mozzarella, on top and grill it in the oven until the cheese is melted.
- Use the Bruschetta to make nicely flavoured meat balls by adding some soaked Bruschetta to minced meat.
- Have an Italian omelette. Add Bruschetta to a mixture of eggs and milk.
- Mix some Bruschetta (soaked in water or crispy dry) through butter to make a lovely herb butter.
- To make a special salad dressing you add some Bruschetta to oil and vinegar. Wonderful over chopped fresh tomatoes.
- Nice and easy - add some Bruschetta to your pasta sauce - simply the best!
- Something different - mix two spoons of mayonnaise with one spoon of yoghurt and add one spoon of Bruschetta for a fantastic herb mayonnaise.
- A secret recipe for your baked potatoes: add Bruschetta to sour cream.
- Healthy and low fat is perfectly possible as well. Mix some Bruschetta with cottage cheese or low fat yoghurt to dip in cucumbers and carrots.
